Playing D&D with Pen & Paper is the real deal.

I don't get to play it much anymore, but my son plays with his freinds every week on Friday nights.

This software is awsome. You can host a game as a Game Master (Dungeon Master) or just join as players. It's about $35.00 for the Game Master (or full version) and about 1/2 that for the "lite" or player version.

In any case, the GM/DM can create handouts, maps, pictures etc to "pass out" to the players, players can roll dice etc etc... it's like playing Pen & Paper... just in a virtual setting.

Go download the demo and give it whirl. I bought some copies so I can play with some friends.
